Giant are a Scottish live ceilidh and covers band with endless energy and enthusiasm. This 4-piece band formed whilst studying an Honours degree in music at Edinburgh Napier University. and have been perfecting their style ever since, covering chart hits, indie anthems plus some funk and disco classics. With Giant, professionalism and high energy are paramount in creating a fun and exciting atmosphere.
Giant boast a wide range of music spanning from the 50s to the present day and have a repertoire of music to suit everyone. They play a balanced mix between golden oldies, Rock anthems and pop bangers with everything in between so no matter your age or walk of life you are bound to hear “that track” that you just can’t not dance to.
Giant offer:
- A set tailored to your needs, whether it be a wedding, corporate black-tie event, work function etc
- Up to an hour of traditional ceilidh dancing including a professional dance caller who will teach your guests the dances so everyone can join in.
- An extended DJ set can be arranged after the live music has finished if you want your special event to last that bit longer (upon request).
- Giant’s musical experience means they can learn all first dance songs and any requests made at least two weeks prior to the event.

How much time do you need for set up & sound check?
We require one hour to set up and soundcheck
What are your standard performance times?
4 hours with a 30min break usually during the buffet.
I'm not sure what my timings are going to be yet, is there any flexibility on the standard timings?
Yes, though may impact our fee.
Can I pick the songs that you'll play on the night?
If there are any special requests we would be more than happy to facilitate.
Will you learn our first dance?
Of course we love learning first dance requests.
Will the band provide background music during your break?
Yes. In fact, if you would like to send us a Spotify playlist we can play this on the night!
My venue has a 1am license, do you offer an extension to keep the night going until then?
For an additional fee, we can play until 1am or offer a DJ set.
Which artists are you most influenced by?
Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, Oasis, Queen, The Beatles, Coldplay, Elvis Presley, The Strokes, Neil Diamond, Skipinnish, The Proclaimers...
Can you provide a ceilidh set? If so, could you give us more information about this - how long does it last, what instruments do you play, can you call the dances for our guests?
We intersperse ceilidh dances in our set. So, we usually have one or two ceilidh dances within the first hour of playing and can always bring back more ceilidh towards the end of the night. If you wish, we can play more or less ceilidh. It is entirely up to you! We approach ceilidh with a modern, upbeat, rocky vibe so use electric instruments to put a spin on the traditional ceilidh format.
What do you think your clients love most about your performances?
We are a fun and energetic band that know exactly how to get your guests onto the dance floor. Our clients have often commented on our eclectic set list; we have something for everyone to move to!
Do you offer any other add-on options?
We can offer an additional DJ set if you want to keep the party going. We also offer a solo guitar performance from our guitar player Sam VK (see page) who can play during your ceremony and/or dinner. Similarly, we can offer a stripped-back solo or duo performance from our singer and guitar player; perfect for drinks reception! In short, whatever you can think of; we’ve got you covered!
Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?
Yes all inclusive
Do you have PAT Cert & PLI Insurance?
Yes, Giant’s equipment has PAT certification and we have Public Liability Insurance up to £10,000,000
