Make Your Wedding Reception One To Remember 03 March 2013 Admin Wedding Posts You want your wedding day to be the most memorable of your life. This is the dream that everybody has but the pressures that involves mean that it is also one of the most stressful experiences you will ever have, too, particularly in the build-up to the big day. With so many things with the potential to go wrong on the day, perhaps the biggest part to try and get right is the one where all of your friends will come together to celebrate your special day; the reception. Here are some major dos and don't that you should bear in mind for the special occasion. Free Bar: This can divide opinion as to whether it is really a big do, or a massive don't. Of course the majority part of your friends will be eternally grateful with you for providing them with an open bar, which is a positive, obviously. On the other hand, can you really trust them not to abuse the right? Free bars are great until they go wrong. And when they go wrong, they often end up ballistic. The last thing you want is for your big day to be remembered as the night where this went wrong, or when he punched him. Serve some free complimentary wine, or welcome Champagne, by all means, but perhaps limit your generosity there. Kids: Kids are another divisive subject. Will banning them from the reception mean that some of your friends can't come, or will it mean that they can have a great night without them for a change. A big part of this depends on how many of your kids actually have young children. If there has been a recent baby boom it might be better to let them come along. If you only have a few friends with little ones, tell them that have to come alone for the night and take advantage of their temporary freedom. Get a Photo Booth: This is a great way to get some fun, lasting memories from your big day. Instead of having an official photographer come to the reception and take unnatural shots of everybody sitting around and drinking, order in a specially commissioned photo booth. These get set up in some part of your reception area and are usually kitted out with fun things that people can dress themselves up in order to get some great shots. This encourages everyone to let their hair down and it will leave you with a very unique and special reminder of your big day. A Theme: This is another one that can go either way but it's probably a bad idea to go with a theme for your reception. A lot of people just hate getting dressed up and so they won't enjoy it, or might even refuse the invitation. On the other hand, it does make those who do enjoy that kind of thing get really into the celebration. The thing is though do you really want the them to be anything other than the fact tat everybody has come together to celebrate your special day? Thanks for the Memories: Do try to involve all of those in attendance where possible. A nice way to do this is by putting together a slide show set to music that shows the happy couple in the period running up to the marriage. It is highly likely that a lot of these shots will involve the friends and family around you now. Of course not everybody will be featured but the really special ones will be, and even those that aren't will get all soppy at watching that beautiful journey which has taken you both from signet rings to those shiny wedding rings.
