How much does it cost to hire a Live Wedding Band?

That is a question with no simple answer - it depends on the venue, band size, set length, and a number of other factors. To help you get a better idea of how much a wedding / function band will cost we've compiled a helpful guide and if you would like to get some more specific information, contact us for a no-obligation quote.

Why should I use a music agency?

Not only does a music agency come with the required contracts that protect you as a consumer but a music agency also brings the experience of managing bands and bookings as well as organising the logistics involved. Live entertainment doesn’t just happen at a wedding or function, there are numerous details and considerations involved. Bands that aren't with an agency are unlikely to have the experience to pull off a seamless gig, and don’t necessarily come with insurance that will protect you from things that may go wrong in the lead up to or on the actual day itself. Local bands don’t usually have the best equipment so the sound quality will be corresponding. All too often, if a band split up for any reason, they’ll simply pocket your deposit and stop returning your calls. Simply put, if you want an easy life and simplified wedding planning, book an agency. You’re guaranteed to be well looked after.

Why should I use YOUR music agency?

Excellent question with an easy answer! Although we have a fairly extensive roster of talented bands , we are a re latively small agency and this is by design - this means that we can focus on each of our clients and provide an exceptional service. We have been doing this for a long time and live and breathe music - the whole team comes from a musical background and we know everything there is to know about events, production, and performance. Our best USP however is the fact that we don’t just manage our bands, we produce them and this means we know everything there is to know about our musicians as well as how to optimise their performance, energy, and charisma. We also work with higher education establishments across Scotland to give young musicians the experience of working in the industry - we’re absolutely invested in the Scottish music and entertainment industry so when you come to us, you'll get to witness our passion and drive in action!

Are your bands any good?

We are very proud of our musicians and our bands are without a doubt some of the best wedding and function bands in Scotland and the UK as a whole. Our past clients have left some incredible reviews which should give you an idea of the quality of service to expect from our entertainers. Have a look at some of our testimonials, and view our artists in HD videos on our band page.

Which band / entertainer is right for me?

Have a think about the style of music that you like, the sort of songs that make you want to get up and dance, and then look through our extensive list of talented wedding /function bands on our website. We have HD videos of our entertainers in action as well as examples of their setlists to give you a flavour of what the bands sound like and help you decide which one is right for you. If you need any help and guidance, don’t hesitate to contact us for free, no-obligation advice.

Do I have a say in the set-list?

Yes, whenever possible, our bands try to be flexible around any requests you may have, provided we get sufficient notice. We also always try our best to accommodate any first dance songs so let us know if you have any particular ideas in mind as early as you can.

Can I see them perform before the wedding?

Our live wedding band showcases in Glasgow and Edinburgh were extremely popular pre the Covid-19 pandemic. These free gigs allowed our current and future clients an opportunity to listen to the bands live and make sure they were right for them. As we slowly emerge from the effects of the Coronavirus, we are trying our best to get the showcases back up and running and will publish any upcoming events as and when we’re able to get them in the diary. In the meantime, have a look at our bands in HD.

How do I go about making a booking?

Get in touch with a no-obligation booking enquiry and we’ll explain the process in full as well as answer any questions you may have. At a high level, we’ll discuss your requirements and issue a quote based on what you’re looking for, for your event /wedding. Each quote is tailored to your specific needs and arrangements e.g. venue location, set duration etc so it’s always best to speak to us directly. Once you’re happy with the quote we’ll send you a contract and organise for a small deposit to be paid, in order to secure a band. Then you’re all set!

How do I pay?

Payments can be made using a debit/credit card or via an online transfer.

What do I need to find out from the venue?

You will need to find out whether there are any restrictions in place at the venue in terms of time limitations for the band’s set, sound limiters as well as anything the band will need to plan for, for setting up. As our live bands have played at most (if not all) of the wedding venues in Scotland, we will be able to advise you on any specific questions you will need to put to the venue during the booking process.

What do I need to do to help the band set up?

Make sure you communicate any information regarding access to the band as well as letting the venue know the details of the band who will be performing i.e. how many of them there are, how long they’ll be playing, when they’ll be arriving etc. Keep the lines of communication open with your musicians and everything should go smoothly, without any input from you, on the day.

I need to change my booking, how do I do that?

Simply contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate any amendments. In some circumstances, where there will be an additional cost to us, some charges may be transferred to you. Please don’t try and make any changes with the band themselves - let them do what they do best and leave the logistics to us!

Can I cancel my booking?

Details of cancellation penalties are detailed in the contract but wherever possible we try our very best to be accommodating and work with you and the band to find the best solution for everyone. If the worst does happen and you need to cancel your booking, contact us as soon as you can so we can help you.

What if the band has to cancel?

All of our artists are contractually bound to honor their agreement to play at your event. In the very unlikely event they have to cancel, we will arrange a suitable alternative at no extra cost to you. Ultimately, we’re here to make sure that your wedding / function goes off without a hitch and that’s exactly what we’ll do.

Will we need to provide anything for the wedding band?

A happy band is an energetic band so anything you can do to make our musicians' lives easier will be gratefully appreciated by us and by our artists. As you can imagine, traveling to and from the venue, setting up, sound-checking, and then performing until late at night takes its toll so if you can help our bands be more comfortable they will be very thankful. Somewhere to change (and maybe have a sit down after the journey / between sets) is helpful, as is a safe place for them to store their personal possessions. Feeding the band is a must if you want them to maintain their energy levels so either allow them early access to the buffet or arrange for the caterers to plate something up for them separately so that they can be ready to start their second set as soon as possible. Water, coffee, and tea are essential so let your catering staff know to make these available as appropriate. Alcohol is not something that gets provided to the band but if you want to buy them a drink after they’ve finished, we’re sure they wouldn’t refuse the kind offer.

What if I have a complaint?

Whilst complaints aren’t something we've really had to deal with, rest assured that if something hasn’t met your expectations, and you need to get in touch with us we will respond as quickly and efficiently as possible and provide mediation between yourselves and your wedding band. We will be transparent about our complaint procedure and keep you informed every step of the way. Our customers mean a great deal to us and resolving any issues you raise with us will be our number 1 priority. With the caliber of wedding bands on our roste r, however we are confident that you will be 100% satisfied with our service.
